A natural light photographer with a big heart for connection, storytelling, and the kind of everyday magic that happens when families are just being themselves.

I’ve loved photography for as long as I can remember, but my real passion began during my gap year in Canada. I was nannying for a family on a stunning wedding venue, surrounded by rolling hills, love stories, and little feet running wild. Being immersed in that environment — with kids at the heart of every day — sparked something in me. I started documenting their world, their play, their personalities, and I was hooked.

When I returned to Australia, I knew this was what I wanted to do. I launched Maddison Photography seven years ago, and since then, I’ve poured my heart into capturing families and the beautifully fleeting moments they’re living right now.

One of the most inspiring chapters was this past year, when Chris and I spent living in Perth. Being surrounded by Western Australia’s breathtaking landscapes — from sun-drenched beaches to vibrant cityscapes — gave me fresh creative energy. It was a gift to combine my love of family photography with exploring and capturing the unique beauty of the places we visited together.

There’s something truly special about the way kids light up when they’re free to be themselves — the belly laughs, the quiet cuddles, the wild energy, the tiny details that change all too quickly. I come to every session with patience and warmth, creating space for your children to lead the way. Because the more we follow their rhythm, the more honest (and magical) the images become.

Whether we’re chasing golden light at the beach or snuggled up in your home, my goal is always the same: to capture your family’s real connection, as it is in this season. Perfectly imperfect, full of love, and worth remembering forever.

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll usually find me with my partner Chris — who reluctantly jumps in for lighting checks or to help spot photo moments when we’re traveling — and our cheeky puppy Maggie, my resident editing sidekick, who loves making surprise appearances if you follow me on Instagram!
